Founded in 2006 by Anu Ranjan, President of The Indian Television Academy (ITA), the BETI ASSOCIATION – A Charity for Women, is committed to defending the rights of women and girls. Launched in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), BETI stands against female foeticide—a tragic and pervasive issue in India.
Our mission is to confront this harmful mindset and champion the dignity of every girl. Why should a girl be denied her right to live? She is the heart of our world, the nurturer of future generations, and Nature’s most precious gift.
BETI goes beyond raising awareness by funding education for underprivileged girls, empowering them to escape poverty and discrimination. With scholarships, learning resources, and support, we help girls unlock their potential and pursue their dreams.
Thanks to community support, BETI also aids victims of acid attacks and sexual violence, providing medical care, rehabilitation, and job placement. Since 2017, we’ve supported the education of over 2,800 girls, and with your help, we can reach many more.
Join us in creating a world where every girl is valued, educated, and empowered to thrive.
BETI: Transforming Lives Through Compassion
At BETI, we are committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. Our organization provides essential support, including food, clothing, and educational assistance for children. We also cover medical expenses and ensure that financial constraints do not impede the well-being and development of the individuals we serve.
Among the many stories of hope and recovery, we have supported a courageous young girl battling cancer, providing her with extensive medical aid to help her fight the disease. Another individual, who underwent a hernia surgery, received full financial support from BETI and is now enjoying improved health and happiness. A young father, struggling with the cost of necessary nasal septoplasty surgery, was able to receive the treatment he needed through our financial assistance. Additionally, we helped a young boy in need of de-addiction treatment, ensuring he and his family could focus on his recovery without financial worry. We also facilitated a young girl’s marriage, covering her wedding expenses so she could start a new chapter in her life, and supported an elderly woman through crucial pancreatic surgeries, leading to her successful recovery.
In some of our most poignant cases, we provided comprehensive support to an acid attack survivor, including funding for her treatment and education for her daughter, ensuring both were able to rebuild their lives. A woman who had been unable to use her hands for over a decade regained her independence through our intervention, allowing her to resume normal activities and care for her family. Another individual, who suffered severe acid burns, received critical treatment that significantly improved her condition. A brave survivor of abuse found both career assistance and emotional support through BETI, enabling her to support her family and rebuild her life. Lastly, we provided life-saving treatment to a victim of a brutal acid attack, leading to a new and hopeful chapter in her life.
These stories are a testament to BETI’s unwavering commitment to offering hope and transforming lives through compassionate support. Beyond these individual successes, our organization has also been instrumental in educating hundreds of young girls and boys, providing them with the tools and opportunities to build a brighter future. Our work continues to make a profound difference, and we remain dedicated to supporting those in need with the same compassion and dedication that defines our mission.
